NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO VARY AN ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORISATION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN IN TERMS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORISATIONS (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 2018 (AS AMENDED) OF THE INTENT TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO VARY AN ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORISATION TO THE SCOTTISH ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION AGENCY

APPLICANT: Earls Gate Waste Treatment Ltd

LOCATION: Earls Road, Grangemouth, FK3 8XG

EASR Ref: 5008506 (Authorised Activities: EASR Sch 20, Part 4, Ch 5 Waste Management, para 23 (a) and (b)

DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED ACTIVITY: The proposed activity constitutes the installation of a Hazardous Waste Transfer Station within the existing permitted site boundary. This new activity involves the reception, material handling, waste segregation, consolidation and temporary storage of specific hazardous wastes before treatment at the Earls Gate Effluent Treatment Plant. The proposed activity will not introduce any new European Waste Catalogue chapters into the site’s existing permitted waste list. All wastes will be managed in accordance with existing site procedures, Duty of Care requirements and relevant hazardous waste regulations.

All feedback will be summarised in the Pre‑Application Engagement Report attached as an Appendix to the application submission.  On receipt, SEPA will confirm whether statutory public consultation is required, making the application documents publicly available for further comments.
